FERNANDO LLERA Cartoons

 FERNANDO LLERA is a humorous and editorial cartoonist, illustrator, writer and radio announcer from Mexico City. He created his first comic strip, "EL MAFIOSO NICK" in 1970. From 1973 to 1992,  he wrote and drew the Spanish language versions of "THE PINK PANTHER" and "BEEP BEEP, THE ROAD RUNNER" comic books for Western Publishing Company's  Mexican licensees, Editorial Novaro and later Editorial VID.  He performed as a comedian at a local dinner theater, doing political comedy skits. He's a licensed radio announcer (#28882) and from 1995 to 2006, he co-hosted a daily 2 hour radio talk show at Mexico's Radio Red station.  He  has illustrated several humor books as well, and his editorial cartoons were published in Mexico's Reforma newspaper from 2004 until 2006.  They are now appearing every other day in EXCELSIOR, one of Mexico´s finest daily newspapers.

PEN, INK, AND RADIO

Comic and humorous illustrations are Fernando's specialty, mostly done in a funny, very retro style and rendered in good old pen and ink fashion...just like the great masters of  yore but with a little help from modern technology!

Fernando Llera has been creating editorial cartoons and comic strips for more than three decades around the Mexico City area but his work has been published in several other countries. 

Many years of experience in single panel cartoons, comic strips, magazine cover illustrations, commercial artwork, ads, character design, comic book scripts and almost every type of humorous illustration, stand behind his work.

He is also well known for creating caricatures of political figures, actors, musicians and other celebrities for various publications and organizations!

In addition,  he's had extensive  experience working in comedy radio talk shows, having co-hosted at least four different ones during a twelve year period (1995-2007) on which he was able to  write, comment and do character voice-overs as well.
